To start, click on the Advanced tab and select REACH Registrations Advanced. This will open a search box that allows for field-specific searches. The Search Field box lets you search by Name, EC Number, or CAS Number, with the Name option displayed by default.
Simple Term Search
Enter a specific term into the Search Term box and click Submit. For example, searching for the term "benzene" will return documents where the selected field contains "benzene."
Phrase Search
For searching a phrase, enter the phrase surrounded by quotation marks in the Search Term box and click Submit. For example, searching for "glycidyl tolyl ether" will return documents where the selected field contains this exact phrase.
Connector Search
To search for multiple terms, enter the terms connected with the word "and" in the Search Term box and click Submit. For example, entering "acid and ester" will return documents where the selected field contains both "acid" and "ester." Available connectors are: AND, OR, NOT.
Group Search
You can group multiple search terms or clauses using parentheses. For example, to search for documents that contain either "methyl" or "butyl" and also contain "acid," enter "(methyl or butyl) and acid" in the Search Term box and click Submit. This will return documents where the selected field contains "methyl" or "butyl," and also "acid."
Term Starts-With Search
To search for terms that start with specific characters, enter the characters followed by an asterisk (*) in the Search Term box and click Submit. For example, entering "anhydr*" will return documents where the selected field contains terms starting with "anhydr." The search will fail if an asterisk precedes characters (*anhydr) or appears between characters (anhy*dr).
