The EXPERTIndex™ is ToxPlanet’s proprietary indexing tool, featuring over 1 million unique substances and nearly 5 million terms and synonyms. It provides a powerful and efficient method for chemical searching, ensuring consistent and relevant results regardless of the synonym or chemical identifier used.
The EXPERTIndex offers two search modes: Starts With and Contains. In this tutorial, we'll focus on how to conduct a "Contains" search.
"Contains" Search
Locate the EXPERTIndex™ search tool near the top of your screen. Enter the word or phrase you wish to search for, then click the Contains button to perform the search.
The search will return a tabular list of chemical terms based on the specified criteria. For instance, if you search for "butan," the list will include all terms in the index that contain "butan." This display provides not only the Chemical Name but also the Chemical Identifier and Chemical Formula, along with the total number of rows and pages in the results list.
You can navigate through the results using the paging arrows or the Go To Page box. You also have the option to adjust the number of results displayed per screen (10, 30, or 50).
To view more details about a specific chemical substance, select it from the list.
After selecting a chemical substance, the system will retrieve its Chemical Identity page. This page displays selected information about the substance, including structural identifiers, synonyms, classification codes, chemical and physical properties, and structural representations. You can view full-text documents related to the substance by clicking on the respective Product Tabs (e.g., ChemEXPERT, ReproEXPERT).
